Please be advised that safety assessments carried out by Main Roads Rail Safety Branch has identified inadequate stacking distance and resulting safety concerns for Restricted Access Vehicles (RAVs) travelling over the level crossings adjacent to Great Northern Highway, on Wilgie Hill Road and Courtlea Road, within the Shire of Dalwallinu.

As a result, Main Roads will be implementing the following restrictions to the relevant RAV Networks:

Intersection Restriction

"No access permitted to or from Great Northern Hwy", via Wilgie Hill Road.

"No access permitted to or from Great Northern Hwy on the eastern side of the intersection", via Courtlea Road.

• Tandem Drive Networks 2 to 7
• Tandem Drive Concessional Networks N2.1 to 7.1
• Tri Drive Network 1
• Tri Drive Concessional Network 1.1
• Tandem Drive Performance Based Standards Network PBS2B.1

Alternative access for these RAV Networks is via Dalwallinu North Road and Elston Road.

Main Roads will implement the above changes on Wednesday 2 April 2025, which will be reflected in the relevant Road Tables and RAV Mapping Tool on our website from that date.
